Christmas Jam Recipes
Brie-Christmas Jam Tartlets
1 pkg (1.9 ounces) frozen miniature phyllo tart shells
2 ounces Brie of Camembert cheese, rind removed
Place tart shells on a baking sheet. Slice cheese into 15 pieces; place one piece in each tart shell. Top each with ¼ teaspoon of Christmas jam. Back at 250 for 6-8 minutes or until heated through. Top with chopped pecans. Makes about 15 appetizers.
Cream Cheese Kolacky
3 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Christmas Jam
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration
Mix cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add flour slowly until well blended. Shape into a ball and chill overnight or for several hours. Preheat over to 350 degrees F. Roll dough out 1/8 inch thick on a floured pastry board. Cut into 2 1/2 inch squares and place 1/2 tsp of jam in center. Overlap opposite corners and pinch together - I find that using the end of fork tines works best and is decorative. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle lightly with the confectioner's sugar - I use a small netted plastic strainer that works great for this!
Thumbprint Cheese Tarts
2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
1 stick softened butter
1 cup all pupose flour
½ tsp paprika
1 cup Christmas Jam
Combine first four ingredients and chill for 30 minutes. Make a small ball of dough (about the size of a pearl onion) and ofrm dough inside mini muffin pans and make a deep thumbprint. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Spoon Christmas Jam into thumbprint. Excellent appetizer! Makes about 2 or 3 dozen.
1 lb sharp Cheddar Cheese
¾ cup mayonnaise
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, pressed
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup Christmas Jam
Combine all ingredients except Christmas Jam & mix well. Put in ring mold. Chill thoroughly. Unmold and fill center with Christmas Jam. Server with your favorite crackers! Yum!
Spread whipped cream cheese onto Spinach/Herb Wrap. Top with two think large slices of smoked turkey close to one edge of srap. Spread two tablespoons of Christmas Jam across center of wrap and top with chopped walnuts & alfalfa sprouts. Fold tightly from turkey edge of wrap and roll. Cut into ¼ slices.
